IPL Acne systems directly target overactive sebaceous glands , greatly reducing the total number and severity of active lesions, and lessoning the inflammation and occurrence of break-outs. The light stimulates the production of collagen to improve skin texture, and can also reduce the appearance of red or brown areas of skin that are often associated with acne breakouts.

Who is it for? Acne sufferers

Benefits: The skin becomes clear leaving little or no trace of the acne.

The Procedure: A consultation and patch test (15 minutes) will determine if this treatment can be performed on you. If there is no reaction following the patch test then the treatment can commence after 7 days. The skin is cleansed and a mild relaxing skin resurfacer is often performed before the Intense Pulsed Light to maximise the results. Exfoliating the skin to remove the top layer of dead skin leaves the skin feeling smooth and soft. A thin layer of gel is applied to the area to guide the light into the skin and a short pulse of light is released. The gel is removed and area cooled. During treatment protective eyewear will be provided.

Aftercare: It is important to follow the post treatment guidelines.
